Purple Dahlia Study Original Painting
$395.00
This expressive dahlia painting was inspired by a very special seasonal ritual in my studio. Each week during the late summer and early fall, my generous neighbors would share buckets of freshly cut, locally grown dahlias from their garden. Their blooms - wildly layered, vibrant, and constantly changing - quickly became one of my greatest sources of inspiration.
Filling my studio with these fresh dahlias each week created a rhythm of observation and creativity. I studied the way the petals curled, unfolded, and caught the light. This painting captures that moment of abundance - when a garden is at its peak and every bloom feels impossibly full of life.
Painted in rich layers of acrylic, this piece celebrates the lush complexity of dahlias and the beauty of locally grown flowers, seasonal inspiration, and the quiet magic of community. The expressive brushwork and vibrant color palette reflect the movement and energy of a garden in full bloom.
This painting explores themes of growth, abundance, and the emotional connection between nature and creativity. What began as a simple weekly gift of flowers became an ongoing dialogue between garden and studio - transforming fleeting blooms into lasting works of art.
